Tom Cochrane

Tom Cochrane is one of Canada’s most respected rock singer-songwriters, known for his powerful voice, anthemic songwriting, and decades-long influence on Canadian music. Born in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Cochrane rose to prominence in the late 1970s and 1980s as the frontman of Red Rider, delivering hits such as Lunatic Fringe and White Hot.

Cochrane achieved massive international success as a solo artist with his 1991 album Mad Mad World, which featured the iconic hit Life Is a Highway, a song that became one of the most recognizable Canadian rock anthems worldwide.

Over the course of his career, Cochrane has earned numerous honours, including induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada. Known for both his energetic live performances and thoughtful songwriting, he remains a beloved figure in Canadian rock.
