The Gipsy Kings

Gipsy Kings are an internationally renowned group known for popularizing a vibrant blend of flamenco, pop, and Latin rhythms often referred to as rumba flamenca. Formed in Arles, France by members of the Reyes family and the Baliardo family, the band rose to global fame in the late 1980s.

Their breakthrough came with their self-titled album Gipsy Kings, which featured international hits like Bamboléo and Djobi Djoba. Sung primarily in Spanish and influenced by traditional flamenco guitar styles, their music combines passionate vocals, fast rhythmic strumming, and danceable grooves.

Over the decades, the Gipsy Kings have toured extensively around the world and helped bring flamenco-inspired music to mainstream audiences, remaining one of the most recognizable groups in world music.
