Daniel Lanois (Live)

Daniel Lanois is a celebrated Canadian producer, songwriter, and ambient music pioneer known for shaping the sound of some of the most influential albums of the past four decades. Born in Hull, Quebec (now part of Gatineau, Quebec), Lanois first emerged in the 1980s as a groundbreaking studio producer working alongside Brian Eno.

Lanois helped craft landmark recordings for artists such as U2—including the acclaimed album The Joshua Tree—as well as producing for Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, and Emmylou Harris. His signature production style blends atmospheric textures with rich, immersive soundscapes.

Alongside his production work, Lanois has maintained a respected solo career with albums like Acadie, showcasing his distinctive voice and experimental approach to roots and ambient music. Widely regarded as one of Canada’s most influential producers, he continues to record, collaborate, and perform internationally.
