Bahamas’ show at Kitchener’s Centre in the Square on November 8, 2018 felt like being invited into Afie Jurvanen’s living room: warm, unfussy, and quietly dazzling.
Framed by his band’s effortless groove and that unmistakable honey-smooth guitar tone, the night moved between slow-burn soul and gently humorous storytelling, with the audience hanging on every loose, understated riff. Shooting the show on my trusty Nikon D800E, I found the lighting and stage presence matched the music perfectly: subtle colour washes, relaxed posture, and expressive close-ups that rewarded patience behind the lens. It was the kind of performance that didn’t need flash or theatrics to leave a mark Bahamas let space, songs, and sincerity do the work, and the room followed every note.
